Lead contamination occurs when lead pipes release lead particles into the water as a result of corrosion. Although this problem has been drastically reduced in recent years, it still appears to affect 1 in every 100 homes. Lead pipes are still fairly common in old homes, also because they are difficult to remove or replace.

Doordat OPTICALC forms a thin protective film on the inside of the pipes, thereby keeping lead contamination due to corrosion to an absolute minimum.

OPTICALC is environmentally friendly for 3 reasons:

1) OPTICALC prevents scale deposits on heat exchangers and ensures there is no loss of efficiency. This can lead to an energy saving of up to 20%!

2) OPTICALC does not waste rinse water for regeneration and does not consume electricity.

3) Phosphate minerals can be reused. The phosphates that end up in the wastewater are recovered by the drinking water companies and processed into Struvite, an ideal fertiliser for use in agriculture. Plants need these minerals to grow and absorb them from the soil. Plants in turn serve as food for man and animals, which excrete the phosphates via urine into the wastewater.

The OPTICALC cartridges can easily be reordered on the webshop or through your plumber or maintenance technician.

After calcium, phosphate minerals are the second most important mineral in the human body. Phosphate minerals are responsible for strong bones, a healthy denture, an optimal digestion, and properly functioning kidneys. Moreover, they have a positive effect on cognitive functions and on overall growth and development. Phosphate minerals are therefore vital for the development of children and young adults.
